Contest for Finding Eagles

Please help us build our alumni database.  The information we collect will be kept confidential, and allow us to communicate with alumni.  During each targeted email message to them, they will be given an opportunity to "opt-out" of future communications.

To share with us found Eagles, please go to this site:

 http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y8PPS75

Once you get to this site...keep in mind, we have a contest going on that allows you to benefit by helping us find missing classmates. For each completed entry, you will receive a ticket for a drawing that will be held May 16, 2011. Please refer to http://ahs-eagles.org/Contest.aspx for contest details.

The number of tickets is limited to the number of entries you make, so add as many entries as you can - there is no limit to the number of tickets you can earn to be in the drawing. Each entry made thru this form will have a date and time stamp, so that gives us the opportunity to know who provided the lead, and in the event of a same find, the entry with the earliest time stamp, wins.

Refer to ahs50-eagles.org for the current list of found/missing classmates.

Thank you!

Registering for the July 23, 2011 Event

The internet and technology is supposed to make our lives easier to manage...right?

I wouldn't quickly confirm this as a yes.

Regarding the 50th Celebration for Andress High School, we created events at the Facebook Group "Andress High Alumni"...over 130 of you registered Yes to attend, and over 200 plus as Maybes.  A general posting on Classmates.com also secured a Yes reply to the tune of over 300.

What we need from you, and this has been conveyed to all of you on these sites, is to go to the formal registration site at ahs50-eagles.org . You can register your intent to attend, and make payments to attend later.

We'd love to hear from you!

Proud Eagles

I'm curious...many of us seem to have "Eagle pride".  Help me understand what Eagle Pride means to you?  What does being an Andress Alumni mean to you?  What legacy should we have as "proud Eagles"?

50th Celebration - July 23, 2011 - are you sure we're 50?

I experienced some interesting comments from various alumni when I began to advertise the 50th Celebration on Classmates.com .  Most comments came under the "50 classes graduating means 2015 is the celebration year...".  In a way, were are both right.

Andress opened it's doors for classes September of 1961.  50 years into the future puts us at 2011...hence, the 50th anniversary for the school.  Andress graduated it's first senior class in 1965, add 50 to it, and you get 2015.  By the way, the Alumni Association will be instrumental in planning the All Class Reunion in 2015.

In either event, we hope you'll take the time to attend these events, perhaps your class will have an event near those dates...so you can economize your travel plans, and be part of this historic events.  We have over 40 volunteers helping in any number of ways, and we're truly blessed with their passion and commitment.  I'm certain as we get closer to the 50th Celebration, more folks will be joining up, registering for the event, and asking the timely question "Whassup?".

To register for the 50th Celebration, please visit our central portal at ahs-eagles.org , the window to anything you'd like to learn about the event, the alumni association, and how to get involved.

As the old saying goes by Napoleon Hill: "You must get involved to have an impact.  No one is impressed with the won-lost record of the referee."

Day One - we're here!

Well, day one of our Alumni Association blog! We've tossed this idea around for some time to help alumni understand what we're doing and why.

I'll be posting additional entries soon!
